Atlantic City

Get your senses ready for an exciting summer in Atlantic City — Can you smell that fresh ocean breeze and hear the waves lapping along the shoreline? Are you dreaming about digging your toes in the sand and thinking about a refreshing dip in the ocean? There is something soothing about hearing the gulls in the distance and the anticipation of summer along the Atlantic City Boardwalk with all the sights and sounds of a lively destination.

Atlantic City is conveniently located along the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and offers a four-mile expanse of beautiful free beaches and the world’s original Boardwalk. Lined with world-class casino resorts, spectacular dining, entertainment and nightlife, luxurious spas, shopping and attractions, the Atlantic City Boardwalk is a must-see destination on your next itinerary. Offering a tapestry of sights, sounds and scents of all your favorite fare, visitors delight in people-watching while enjoying an early morning bike ride, or browsing for t-shirts and souvenirs and riding on the unique Rolling Chairs and Boardwalk Trams.

Historic Gardner’s Basin is a hidden gem, nestled among the back bays in the midst of remnants from Atlantic City’s rum running days. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the Boardwalk, the Basin is home to the Atlantic City Aquarium where you can touch sea life and watch live animals up close during daily demonstrations. Embark on sightseeing and dolphin-watching cruises on Atlantic City Cruises and other parasailing and fishing excursions. Stunning bay views and outdoor seating make this the perfect spot to stop and breathe in that sea air.

Although Atlantic City has many big name stars on the calendar this summer, you will also want to check out some of Atlantic City’s signature summer events. The annual beach ball drop at Resorts Casino Hotel and Margaritaville to kick-off summer takes place Memorial Day Weekend, the Golf Channel’s Boardwalk Bash World Long Drive Competition and the Shoprite LPGA Classic Golf Tournament in June and the popular Atlantic City Airshow in August, featuring the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds and an appearance by the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, from the U.K.

There are many other local amusements and attractions that should be on your “to do” list on your next visit to Atlantic City.

Picture yourself soaring 220 feet over the beautiful beach and Boardwalk on a 15-minute ride with breathless views aboard Steel Pier’s newest attraction, The Wheel. Located just steps from casino resorts the Steel Pier is “shore” to excite you. Whether you are skyrocketing to the stars over the ocean or gathering for an event with the best view in town, the Steel Pier offers some kind of fun for everyone! Whatever you choose, brace yourself for great action!

Standing at 171 feet, the Absecon Lighthouse is New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse, 3rd tallest in the U.S. and one of the oldest in the country. Climb the 228 steps and you'll see breathtaking views of the Atlantic City skyline and up top you’ll come face-to-face with the original first-order Fresnel Lens, first lit in 1857.

Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall is home to the world’s largest pipe organ. With more than 33,000 pipes, the Midmer-Losh organ is the largest and loudest musical instrument in the world! You can enjoy free daily recitals and behind-the-scenes tours of this magnificent musical instrument.

Immerse yourself in a live-action amusement center, Escape AC, at Tropicana Atlantic City, featuring a challenging variety of small-group escape rooms. Take a turn around the golf course in an interactive simulator Top Golf Swing Suite at Ocean Resort Casino, offering a variety of golf and non-golf games.

A visit to the Atlantic City area must include a trip to the world’s tallest elephant, Lucy, America’s oldest roadside attraction! This historical landmark is a six-story elephant-shaped example of novelty architecture and resides in nearby Margate, NJ.
