You can't beat the holiday spirit as you stroll through Ocean City Maryland's Winterfest of Lights./Karl Teel

Nothing beats a holiday at the beach, and here’s a way to make it a little brighter: check out Ocean City, Maryland’s, Winterfest of Lights, a half-mile long walking holiday event. Stroll through thousands of sparkling holiday lights and many animated light displays in Ocean City’s Northside Park located at 200 125th Street. Stay warm with some hot chocolate on sale, pick up some glow sticks, take a photo with the kids and Santa and then find some souvenirs and holiday cheer at the gift shop. There is a whole array of holiday exhibits to explore including a massive 50-foot Christmas tree.

Being COVID-19 cautious, masks are required in all locations and a health check is required to enter the gift shop and Santa areas. The Winterfest of Lights runs Wednesday through Sunday from Nov. 19-Jan. 2, 2021, from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Admission is only $5 per person, and children ages 11 under are free. Even better, early birds enjoy free admission on Nov. 19. For more information, call 800-626-2326 or 410-250-0125 or visit
