Indiana County calendar stacked with fall events

Whether you’re looking for a pumpkin patch to explore with the family, or hunting for a Halloween thrill, Indiana County, Pa., has something for everyone this season.

Kick off fall festivities with the Smicksburg Fall Festival and the Pumpkin Festival at Reeger’s Farm, then plan to hit up spookier events like the Blairsville Haunted Cemetery Tour. For the brave at heart, there’s always Scary Harry’s Haunted Trail, with dates beginning soon. This haunted trail was rated top five in Pennsylvania’s “Must See Haunts” in 2018.

Here’s a rundown of fall and Halloween events happening in Indiana County this season:

Scary Harry’s Haunted Trail

Scary Harry's Haunted Trail is a multi-level, walk-through horror attraction featuring three haunted houses all interconnected by a terrifying trail through the woods.

Smicksburg Fall Festival

Take a scenic drive through the quaint Amish countryside to the community of Smicksburg. The fall foliage adds a special beauty to all of the festivities, shopping and entertainment taking place during this annual festival.

Pumpkin Festival at Reeger’s Farm

The Pumpkin Festival has been a fall tradition for many families over the years. Visit picturesque Reeger’s Farm and hop on a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkins. The festival also includes a corn maze, children’s activities, barnyard animals and delicious homemade foods including sandwiches, soup and a variety of sweet treats.

Potters Tour

Tucked away along Indiana County’s scenic back roads, you'll find a booming network of pottery studios. For over 15 years, local potters have coordinated a free self-guided tour held the third weekend of October. They clean up their studios, wash the clay off their hands, proudly put their work on display and warmly invite the public to visit their workplace and to learn about the life of a potter and what inspires their creative work.

Blairsville Twilight Cemetery Tour

Follow this guided tour to explore the Blairsville Cemetery and meet figures from the Underground Railroad, soldiers from wars long past and prominent citizens. Hear their exciting stories of local, regional and national significance while walking among the stones.

Spirits Along the Hoodlebug

The event begins at Noble Stein Brewing, then travels to Levity Brewing and along the Hoodlebug Trail to Disobedient Spirits. Fee for the event is $25 per person and includes shuttle, samples (over 21 only), snacks, beverage maker talks at each location, and a talk by local botanist as you walk the Hoodlebug Trail toward Homer City.

Date: Oct. 12

Time: noon-4 p.m.

Locations: Noble Stein Brewing Co., Levity Brewing Co., Disobedient Spirits
